Call for Presenters

The Call for Presenters EOI close on Tuesday 2 April 2024.

Palliative Care Tasmania is pleased to invite interested individuals or organisations to submit an Expression of Interest to present at the 2024 Palliative Care Tasmania Symposium ‘Compassionate Tasmania’, to be held at Blundstone Arena, Hobart on Thursday 13 June 2024.

With the demand for palliative care projected to rise significantly, now is the time to act!

Palliative Care Tasmania’s ‘Compassionate Tasmania’ symposium is a one-day workforce event aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation in both clinical and community settings.

Submissions are being sought from presenters looking to deliver one of the below presentation types:

  • Oral presentation 15 minutes in duration (inclusive of any Q and A time).
  • Rapid fire presentation 7 minutes in duration (does not have any Q and A time allocated).
  • Poster presentation Physical poster to be prepared for display for the duration of the Symposium. Posters are to be no larger than A0 size and single sided.

Oral and rapid-fire presentations will run in the Symposium program and will compliment Keynote and Invited speakers. Poster presenters will be asked to prepare a poster (no more than A0 in size) to be displayed for the duration of the Symposium.

How to submit

  • An Expression of interest must be submitted using the online EOI form.
  • Presentation submissions must be prepared in accordance with the presentation submission requirements and answer all form questions including:
    • presenter/s contact details including title, first name, last name, organisation, position, email and contact number
    • presenter/s biography (up to 150 words. If there is more than one presenter, please keep combined biographies to 150 words)
    • presentation title (up to 15 words)
    • presentation sub-theme
    • presentation outline (up to 300 words)
    • If presenters are submitting more than one presentation, each presentation must be submitted separately.
  • Where a presentation submission has more than one presenter, please ensure that all presenters have agreed to the presentation submission and terms and conditions.
  • The submitting presenter must check the ‘acknowledgement of terms and conditions’ box when submitting.
  • Presentation submissions should be checked for clarity, spelling and grammar.
  • Presentation submissions will not be accepted after the closing date.
